INTRODUCING: READORA FROM BOOKTROPOLIS

READORA FROM BOOKTROPOLIS THE LITERARY SUPERHERO

Readora from BookTropolis, the Literary Superhero, was created to empower every child to read and have fun doing it. Readora uses her superpower to encourage children to read and improve their comprehension through poetic language, fantasy, and illustrations.

The Readora book stories are told poetically in Haiku form. The books center on topics that are fun, interesting, and educational for children ages 3–8. Readora's superpower grants children the joy of reading and enhances their comprehension through the poetic haiku style, paired with vibrant illustrations. In this debut book, The ABCs of Sports, children learn about various sports from A to Z. They are introduced to popular sports such as baseball and tennis, as well as unfamiliar sports like orienteering and zorb, while connecting the words to the fun images on each page.

Readora believes every child has many talents, and playing a sport is one of them. Children are empowered to read, learn, explore, and choose a sport that interests them. Allow Readora from BookTropolis, the Literary Superhero, to empower your children to enjoy reading and increase their comprehension.

THE ORIGINS OF READORA

The Land of BookTropolis

BookTropolis is the magical hometown of Readora—a vibrant city built entirely from stories, where imagination fills the air and books come to life. Once dull and quiet, BookTropolis was transformed when Readora discovered the power of reading and shared it with her community. As she read, her confidence grew, her imagination soared, and her world became brighter.

Today, BookTropolis shines as a place where every child carries a living book and steps inside stories filled with wonder, creativity, and possibility. From this extraordinary land, Readora now travels the world, inspiring children everywhere to read, dream, and discover the joy of learning—because in BookTropolis, every story read makes the world a little brighter.

The Inspiration for Readora from BookTropolis

Across the United States, many children struggle to read proficiently by fourth grade—an important milestone where students transition from learning to read to reading to learn. Research shows that students who fall behind at this stage often face challenges in comprehension, confidence, and long-term academic success. Globally, the COVID-19 pandemic further intensified these challenges, with children ages 9 and 10 losing nearly a year of reading progress between 2019 and 2024.

Motivated by these realities, Sharon Smith Terry created Readora from BookTropolis to help change the narrative. Through this debut children’s book series, Sharon brings the magic of BookTropolis to life with Readora—a spirited literary superhero who helps young readers discover the joy of books. Inspired by her passion for early literacy and educational equity, Sharon writes to strengthen foundational reading skills, spark imagination, and empower children ages 3–8 to dream boldly and learn bravely.

Readora from BookTropolis marks the beginning of Sharon’s mission to nurture confident, curious, lifelong readers—one joyful story at a time.
